BUTTURFF WINS REYES DOUBLES FOR 18TH REGIONAL TITLE

Jakob Butturff of Tempe, Ariz., and his non-member partner, Ryan Nikolas of Milwaukie, Ore., posted a 9-3 match play record and a combined 20-game total of 10,033 pins Sunday to run away with the PBA Tony Reyes Memorial Member/Non-Member Doubles title at 4th Street Bowl in San Jose, Calif. 

Nikolas and Butturff, who picked up his fifth PBA Regional title of the year and the 18th in his three-year PBA career, defeated Darren Tang of San Francisco and non-member Zack Hattori of Las Vegas by 824 pins to split the $4,000 first prize. Tang and Hattori posted an 8-4 match play record and a 9,209 pinfall total to earn $2,200. 

The Tony Reyes Memorial is named in honor of the late PBA Tour champion who died in 2012.
