Columbia 300’s Parkin Claims IBMA, Kegel September Bowler of the Month
Arlington, Texas - Missy Parkin, Laguna Hills, California, has been chosen as the September 2014 Kegel Bowler of the Month by the International Bowling Media Association. Parkin won four gold medals at the 2014 Pan American Bowling Confederation (PABCON) Women's Championships in Cali, Columbia. Besides leading Team USA in the team event, she and partner Kelly Kulick set a PABCON doubles record, and anchored the trios winning squad, and also captured the All-Events crown. Parkin lead Team USA with a series of 761 and 691, good for a 242 average over the six-game team event.
Her six-game doubles total was two pins shy of averaging 250, at 1,498. Kelly Kulick added 1,363 for a 2,861 total, winning by 107 pins over Aruba's Thashaina Seraus and Kamilah Dammers.
With trios teammates Shannon O'Keefe and Danielle McEwan, Parkin added a 1225 series to a trios six-game total of 3,885, only 25 pins better than Team USA silver medalist teammates Liz Johnson, Shannon Pluhowsky, and Kulick.
Parkin capped off the tournament by nabbing the All-Events crown with a 24-game total of 5,515, good for a 229 average.
