Day Two of Team USA Trials Dominated by Team EBIs PWBA Staff

By Chris Hester

Bowling on the 40 ft. Athens WTBA pattern, Columbia300’s Missy Parkin started her day off by bowling the first women’s 300 at this year’s Team USA trials and never looked back.

Parkin, after bowling 300 with her Ebonite Warrior Supreme, went on to put up a 1448 total (241 average) to lead the second day of qualifying.

“I am extremely happy with my execution today,” Parkin said. “I was able to stay consistent and that allowed me to keep up with the moves and make the proper adjustments at the right time.”

Parkin was followed closely behind by Hammer’s Shannon Pluhowsky who managed a total of 1419 for the six game block.  Shannon, the longtime Team USA veteran, worked her way to a 236 average on Thursday with her Columbia300 Raw Urge.

To round out the TeamEBI podium, Columbia 300’s Bryanna Cote put together a solid day by posting a 1391 total (231 average) using a combination of her Hammer Dark Legend Solid and Track Cyborg Pearl.

“My performance was 1005 better today,” said Cote. “Yesterday was a grind from game 1 and I never really got comfortable.  Today I felt like I had some miss room and was able to loosen up my swing.”

Cote, a three-time adult Team USA member to go along with two years on Junior Team USA, spoke about what making the team would mean to her:

“To make the team again this year would be amazing.  Being able to start off the new year on Team USA would definitely boost my confidence for the upcoming PWBA tour season.  We have three more days left and I need to focus on one shot at a time,” she said.
